Overscheduled: The Best NOLA Live Music Sets Every Day of the Week

Gallons of ink have already been spilled on the passing of Uncle Lionel Batiste, and justifiably so. Batiste was irresistibly dapper when strolling through the Marigny, one of those true NOLA characters.

But he was also an actual, like, performing musician. Over the last week, I’ve been a little perplexed by a number of people fiercely celebrating his legacy who hadn’t roused themselves to actually see him play. Symbols are great, but never a substitute for a late-night second set.

Thus, I give you a week in music. Monday through Sunday, here are the best recurring sets in New Orleans. Every one of these needs to be on your list. If you’re not out listening to live music with some frequency you’re missing a big part of what NOLA has to offer. So no matter what day of the week it is, you’ve got no excuse.
